Hello, welcome to my profile page. I have a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Seminary's Graduate School of Psychology, and a Doctor of Leadership degree from Evangel University. Since 1994 I have been specializing in working with women's issues in my therapy practice. It is my calling and I count it an honor and sacred privilege to be a small part of my client's story and journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together I look forward to getting to know you and gathering the information necessary to set up a treatment plan that matches your comfort level and to set you up for success. We will also collaborate on a few goals that you'd like to establish moving forward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with women for several decades, I believe my greatest strength is connectivity and compassion. I truly want to know and understand my client and provide the support, insight and skills necessary to empower and equip them to reach their fullest potential.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Seminary's Graduate School of Psychology, and a Doctor of Leadership degree from Evangel University. Ava’s doctoral work focused on the psychological and characterological competencies that ensure long-term sustained impact for professional, goal oriented females in the 21st century. Dr. Ava specializes in anxiety, depression, and trauma related issues. She is trained in EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), has extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT.) Building on over twenty-five years in mental health and leadership development for women, Ava has helped Orange County women successfully understand and master the ways in which the many currents of their lives interact and affect their emotional health. Her capacity to believe in people after they’ve given up on themselves bears life transforming fruit. Her communication skills naturally opened opportunities to teach, write, and speak on mental health issues at the local, national, and international level. Her capable and compassionate care has taken her to various socioeconomic environments in other countries, providing diverse perspectives.
