Hi! I'm Maggie! I received my Master in Arts in Holistic Counseling Psychology at JFK University in San Jose. I am an LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) #145986. My hope is to help you in whatever way I can. Everyone's path looks different! My aim is to get to know you and to support you in whatever your goals are.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session I will go over confidentiality and limits. I will let you know that this is a safe, confidential space for you to explore your inner thoughts and feelings and let you know what the boundaries are in what I would need to report. I would then invite you to tell me about yourself, your life, and what brings you to therapy. If you were to say this was hard I would help by asking open ended questions. I would ask what your goals are for therapy, and if you didn't quite know, I would help you figure that out too. I would ask you if you have been to therapy before, what you found helpful / not helpful. It would be a lot of getting to know you, in a safe, non-judgmental, and comforting space.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel as though my strengths as a provider are my ability to connect with others in deep and meaningful ways. I am skilled at assessing what is going on and noticing the subtle patterns. I help provide clarity and insight. I am also an empathetic, curious, and open-minded person; I aim to really understand and accept you for who you are so you can learn to love and accept yourself in deeper ways as well.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I attune to clients in deep and meaningful ways to work on the attachment styles, aiming to heal childhood wounds and to improve your ability to show up in your present and future relationships.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I help clients get to know and re-connect with the different parts of themselves (for example their inner child), so that all parts have a voice to get their needs met.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I provide unconditional positive regard for my clients because I believe that is the space in which we heal.

Somatic

I bring awareness to the body and the nervous system and help people gain awareness so they can learn to self-regulate more effectively throughout the day.

Transpersonal

When you think about how communication is 70% non verbal, it helps to explain what the term “transpersonal” means. This is the deeper undercurrents and intuitive layers that I work with. As stated, it is hard to explain in words! Art could explain this better :)
