Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of Kentucky. I have been working as a therapist since 2021. Prior to that I worked as a case manager in the mental health field. I help adults and adolescents transition through difficult seasons in their lives. I actively work with addiction and recovery clients by providing Groups such as IOP and OP along with individual sessions when needed.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is extremely laid back. This first session is a lot like a meet and greet. This will allow you to get comfortable with how to log in, ask any questions you have about how therapy works, and I will ask some questions to get to know you and where we can start to assist you in your journey to living a fuller life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Working in addiction and recovery has allowed me to work with a variety of stressors and traumatic events individuals have experienced. I have multiple reliable resources and tools that I have accrued over the years to help others. I have experience in working with Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient (OP) groups.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I like to use ACT during when a client feels stuck in the negative thoughts. This assists the client to accept their emotions and thoughts as they come but not dwell in them at the same time. ACT can help the client work though the difficult emotions without supressing them all while working on the here and now.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is a treatment I like to use because it helps others know they are not alone by sharing personal experiences or listening to others share theirs. This can be for Substance Use Disorder, PTSD, Victims of Sexual assault, trauma etc.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a structured goal oriented talk therapy. I use CBT for a wide range of diagnoses such as stress, anxiety, depression, substance use disorder, PTSD, any trauma related experiences. CBT allows individuals to change negative beliefs, handle stress, participate in positive activities, set and work toward goals, and develop healthier coping behaviors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT in situations when clients have difficulties regulating their emotions. Examples could be individuals who struggle with reintegrating back into society after long periods of incarceration and individuals who are in recovery.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use mindfulness therapy with my clients who are struggling with chronic pain, consistent thoughts, and but not limited to, excessive worry. Mindfulness can be used in combination with other forms of therapy.
