I help heal emotional pain and relationship distress. I bring a warm approach to therapy, informed by life experiences in Europe and Asia. I became a therapist after having discovered the meaning of fatherhood. Prior to finding my calling, I worked in technology in large companies, and startups. I also studied and taught international relations theory. I taught the practice of psychotherapy to graduate students and am supervising therapists in training.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

You can anticipate from me a warm, open, and non-judgmental approach. I'll inquire about your experiences and the motivations behind seeking therapy. Together, we'll gather relevant information at a pace that suits you. I'll offer insights on the potential path ahead, or suggest a suitable colleague if that's a better fit. Throughout this process, you'll gauge your comfort with me, a crucial factor backed by research, to determine if we're the right match for your needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My areas of biggest strength are the experience of different ways of being around the world, the warmth that my European immersion imparted to me, and the integration of thinking, through my previous careers, and feeling, in my current practice, and in the witnessing, every day, of the preciousness of feeling loved.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I integrate approaches that provide empathy, help regulate the nervous system, and deepen self-awareness: attachment theory, person-centered therapy, emotionally focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, gestalt therapy, as well as elements of dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and nidra mindfulness meditation. These bring direct short-term support with immediate stresses and long-term benefits with regard to self-appreciation, empowerment, quality of relationship, and meaning. While tools matter, of deeper significance is the quality of the human connection in therapy. On it depends the quality of appreciation we develop for our self, and the extent to which any of the benefits of these techniques become long-lasting.
