(she/her)
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Pennsylvania and New York, born and raised in New York City. I am passionate about supporting others and creating a compassionate, judgment-free space where individuals feel heard, respected, and empowered. My professional experience includes providing behavioral health counseling and medication support to individuals living with cancer through an online care platform. I also spent five years working in an HIV clinic, offering counseling and emotional support to patients navigating complex health challenges. In addition, I have worked in primary care settings supporting children, families, and adults with behavioral health needs while collaborating closely with psychiatrists to provide integrated mental health care, including medication management. I am committed to helping people navigate life’s challenges with empathy, evidence-based care, and a personalized approach that honors each person’s unique experiences and goals. My focus is rooted in relationship issues, trauma & abuse, and generalized anxiety disorder. I utilize CBT and DBT with my clients to help promote a sense of independence and acceptance. We will focus on practicing mindfulness and utilizing tools to emotionally regulate the self. A little bit about my style of therapy, I aim to make this experience feel as natural and open as possible. I find that people come into therapy with an expectation of being told how to deal with their concerns - when in fact, I want to walk along side you in this journey. We are learning about you together and finding what works best for you. I hope to be that support and tool in your life during this transitional period. I understand the hesitancy some may have when exploring self - I like to embrace the curiosity to unlock parts of yourself in a safe and constructive manner.
In our first session together I plan to get to know you and answer any questions you may have about me. I am a firm believer that a good fit between therapist and client is necessary for change. I would ask some questions about your situation and what you are looking for from this experience. I would then explain my approach as a therapist and how I set the stage for sessions to feel natural and less directive.
I specialize in treating Generalized Anxiety Disorders, Grief, and PTSD. I have a special connection and interest in working with young adults through transitional periods. I find my greatest strength as a therapist is being candid and authentic to help sessions feel less like work and more like an exploration of self.
I primarily work with young adults and middle-aged adults. I have a preference for working with individuals in pivotal moments, whether it be school, work, and/or relationship transitions. Family planning, infertility, post-partum depression/anxiety, and working with new parents are also an interest of mine.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize CBT in my practice because being able to identify a behavior and actively work to modify it is crucial to making changes in your life. I combine methods from DBT as well - which is derived from CBT to incorporate mindfulness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I find that person-centered therapy has been most effective in building rapport with your client and giving the control and power back to their situation. I prefer a counseling session to feel equitable and a space that is safe and nonjudgmental. I offer time and space for a client to tell me how they would like me to guide them and allow space for them to take control of a session. This is their experience and time to share their story.
