I am dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing space where we can explore your truth and navigate through any emotional barriers that may be hindering your growth. My goal is to support you in processing traumatic experiences and uncovering your authentic self. Utilizing modalities such as Mindfulness, Solution-Focused therapy, and Crisis Intervention, I tailor my approach to suit your specific needs. My background includes extensive experience working with individuals and families dealing with depression, grief, trauma, and adjustment issues. Additionally, I have worked closely with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, helping them develop social skills, as well as supporting parents of children with special needs in both school and private settings. Together, we can embark on this journey of healing, where we will work towards enhancing your interpersonal relationships and empowering you to live your best life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our initial session, I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable opening up about your personal history and experiences. It's important for me to understand where you're coming from and what has shaped your journey thus far. This allows me to tailor our sessions to best support you. I also want to hear about your therapy goals. What are the areas in your life that you're hoping to improve or address? Whether it's managing emotions, navigating relationships, coping with past traumas, or achieving personal growth, your goals are central to our work together. By understanding what you hope to achieve, I can better guide our sessions and provide strategies to help you reach those goals. This is your journey, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I primarily utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness tools and solution-focused modalities in my practice, as I find them effective in helping clients achieve meaningful change. However, I am flexible and open to incorporating other therapeutic methods based on your individual needs and preferences. Journaling is a valuable tool that I often recommend to clients as it can facilitate the processing of emotions, promote self-reflection, and enhance self-awareness. By engaging in regular journaling exercises, you can gain deeper insights into your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, which can support our work together in therapy. In addition to journaling, I may also incorporate therapeutic worksheets and workbooks into our sessions. These resources provide structured exercises and prompts that can help us explore how your current challenges are impacting you and identify strategies for coping and problem-solving. Ultimately, my approach to therapy is collaborative and client-centered, meaning that I prioritize your unique needs, goals, and preferences throughout our work together. Together, we will explore various tools and techniques to support your growth, healing, and overall well-being.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My passion lies in supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, particularly those who have endured emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. I am deeply committed to providing a safe and validating space where survivors can process their experiences, heal from their wounds, and reclaim their sense of self-worth and agency. My experiences as a former school counselor and special education teacher have cultivated within me a deep sense of empathy and compassion. I am particularly drawn to working with clients who are navigating the challenges of Autism Spectrum Disorder and teenagers who are facing difficulties in their daily lives. My background in special education has equipped me with a unique understanding of the needs and perspectives of individuals on the Autism Spectrum. I am committed to providing a supportive and understanding environment where these clients can feel heard and empowered to navigate the complexities of their experiences.
