I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Florida. I received my master’s degree in social work from Florida State University and have been practicing for 10 years. Life is full of ups, downs, and unexpected turns which can cause us to experience stress, leading to feeling burn out, being overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, and unmotivated. As a therapist I aim to work with my clients to navigate these life challenges as we will explore your thoughts, and feelings by developing a plan using evidence-based techniques. I provide a safe and supportive environment and will encourage you to make the changes needed to live your life to the fullest and feel like yourself again. Throughout my career as a Clinical Social Worker, I have had the opportunity to work with a range of clients experiencing anxiety, depression, chronic illness, grief and loss, life transitions, and unhealthy coping mechanisms. My approach to therapy is to build a trusting supportive relationship to allow my clients to feel comfortable and safe when working through some of their most vulnerable feelings.
During our first session together, clients can expect a warm welcoming, and safe environment. We will take time to build rapport and a trusting relationship. My clients are given the space to be able to express themselves and we will work on developing goals for treatment.
My strengths as a provider start with my warm and calming demeanor. I am often told that I make others feel comfortable. This helps my clients to feel at ease and to be able to express themselves without feeling judged. I provide empathy and understanding with a strength-based approach.
When working with my clients I use different treatment modalities that meet the needs of each individual I am given the opportunity to work with. In life we are faced with many challenges and daily stressors that can leave us feeling unmotivated, overwhelmed, anxious, and or depressed. Our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is useful when we find ourselves in a cycle of negative thinking and feelings which can then lead to behavior that reinforces that negativity. Using CBT has been a helpful tool to help my clients recognize their cognitive distortions and learn to break the cycle by changing their behavior or thoughts leading to a less anxious and stressed life.
