Hi, My name is Sandi Cross. I hold a BS and MSW, both from the University of Illinois. I also have a Type 73 Certification in School Social Work. I have spent my entire adult life working with children and families and am passionate about helping people identify and fulfill their goals, while confronting the struggles along the way. Many of the struggles include anxiety, depression, behavior concerns, anger-management, and low self-esteem.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I utilize a multi-modality approach with my clients. I primarily use Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma- Informed Therapy, DBT, and Psycho-Education. I'm sure my extensive work experience in the school system influenced my approach-- I like to have clients understand cycles, stages, relationship dynamics, etc. Basically, together we focus on having the tools you need to have a more rewarding life.
My biggest strengths include working with clients who suffer from anxiety, whether adults, teens or children. I also have an extensive background in working with children and their families suffering from behavior concerns, depression, self-esteem, and family conflicts.
