Hi, My name is Sandi Cross. I hold a BS and MSW, both from the University of Illinois. I also have a Type 73 Certification in School Social Work. I have spent my entire adult life working with children and families and am passionate about helping people identify and fulfill their goals, while confronting the struggles along the way. Many of the struggles include anxiety, depression, behavior concerns, anger-management, and low self-esteem.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
My biggest strengths include working with clients who suffer from anxiety, whether adults, teens or children. I also have an extensive background in working with children and their families suffering from behavior concerns, depression, self-esteem, and family conflicts.
Children and families with emotion regulation problems and clients with anxiety or depression.
CBT is a common treatment for anxiety disorders, helping individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to anxiety. It can also be useful for depression, self-esteem issues, and relationship difficulties.
Family therapy can help family members understand each other and work through difficult feelings in a safe space. Family therapy focuses on improving interactions and communication between family members.
I treat people who have experienced loss due to death, divorce, natural disasters, work layoffs, or other traumatic life changes. I have personal experience with loss of a child.
I use psychoeducation to help clients understand and cope with their concerns, diagnoses, and patterns of behaviors. Clients who understand their treatment are better able to follow through on recommendations.
