Hello. Thank you for stopping by my profile. Have you been worried, frustrated, or just plain disappointed with certain situations in your life? Perhaps your issues are current, or maybe they have been resurfacing, with no resolution. Seeking help is a big step, but it's certainly a step in the right direction! I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and depression. I bring to the table 19 years of experience in the field, with the last 12 years as a licensed clinical psychologist. I also assist my clients with moving through personal and relational stress, increasing self-esteem, creating goals for personal growth, and empowerment, all with a focus on women's psychological and emotional health.
My strength is in working collaboratively with the women I serve, who come from various backgrounds, present with different life experiences, and hold a range of beliefs, but are all focused on pursuing this life in the best way possible. Women are amazing individuals, and I love being a part of fostering healthy emotional growth in the population of women that I serve. After scheduling your first appointment, I will reach out to you for a brief consultation so we can ensure that we are a good fit to work together. I look forward to meeting with you and being a support on your life's journey!
My practice focuses on women's mental health issues. My work with clients includes a special focus on, and providing support for the following: mental health and wellness during the college/higher education years, parenting and single parenting issues, pregnancy and postpartum wellness, workplace stress, balancing home and work life, and preparing for retirement. I provide treatment to women between the ages of 21 and 64 years.
CBT is used in combination with other treatment approaches to assist clients with challenging unbalanced thoughts that they might be experiencing, and finding new, healthy, and sustainable ways to approach their thought processes and situations connected to these thoughts.
Utilizing the strengths of the psychodynamic approach is a must for me in sessions. I am a believer that people present with an accumulation of where their experiences have taken them, throughout life. This approach is integrated within therapy sessions to assist clients with exploring past experiences that might be contributing to current difficulties and impairments.
At intake and during sessions, clients experience me asking about their strengths and the good, wonderful, creative, or positive aspects of their character and certain identifiable situations in their lives. I ask that clients identify at least one strength on my intake form, even if that strength is making the call to seek help. I integrate this method heavily during sessions, to assist clients with working through self-doubt, concerns regarding the future, and to encourage clients in their efforts toward healing.
My integrative approach takes into consideration all of the previously-mentioned therapeutic approaches, as I assist clients with walking through the stages of therapeutic intervention. As a multicultural therapist, I enjoy working with clients from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. My clients also present with a variety of faiths--Christianity, Sikhism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and others. I appreciate diversity and consider each client's unique values, beliefs, experiences, identities, and strengths, during their journey toward healing.
