Hey there! My name is Sarah Lesko. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working in El Dorado Hills as well as within the state of California. I am a ciswoman using she/her pronouns. Other identities that I hold: parent of two littles, second-generation Chinese American, and Caucasian. When I'm not working or caring for my children, you can catch me with my nose in a good book (memoirs these days) or on a meandering walk with no firm destination.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The relationship between the therapist and the client is the most crucial component behind healthy change within therapy. As such, in our first session, it is important for me to spend time getting to know you. I will ask questions that allow for me to better understand what is bringing you into therapy and what you hope to get out of it.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

From feedback from previous clients and supervisees, I know that as a therapist, I present as nurturing and thoughtful. I very much value the client as an expert in their own life and treat them with a great deal of respect. I like to bring humor and play into the room at times while also allowing space for grief, anger, sadness or whatever emotion is showing up.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Understanding the intersection between thoughts, feelings and actions can be incredibly useful.

Couples Counseling

I work with couples of all types on issues of their choosing, providing support and safety in which they can achieve their goals.

Trauma-Focused CBT

For those who have experienced trauma, this modality can be very effective.

Family Therapy

Individuals all live within the contexts of our families (biological, chosen) and our communities. Working together as a family unit can often achieve greater results.
