LMHC, 4 years of experience
Hi, I’m Justine Hale, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in New York City. I earned my undergraduate degree from John Jay College and my Master’s from NYU. With 8 years in the human services field—4 of those as a practicing therapist—I bring experience working with adults, children, families, and couples. My integrative approach is tailored to meet each client where they are, and I specialize in supporting those navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and life transitions.
I recognize that reaching out for therapy is a meaningful and sometimes difficult step. At the heart of my work is building a safe, supportive, and trusting relationship so that every client feels heard, valued, and understood. If you’re considering therapy, please know I’m here to answer questions and walk alongside you as you take the next step toward growth and healing.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, tailoring each session to meet a client’s unique needs in that moment. I have experience working with adults, children, families, and couples, and often work with individuals entering therapy for the first time, while also welcoming those who have previous experience in therapy. As an LGBTQIA+ ally, I hold a holistic perspective that considers the many factors—personal, relational, and societal—that shape well-being. I view therapy as a collaborative process, creating space for healing, empowerment, and self-discovery.
My ideal clients are adult individuals navigating seasons of change—whether that’s adjusting to new roles, managing anxiety or depression, healing from trauma, or working through relationship challenges. I’m best positioned to support those who are ready to better understand themselves, strengthen emotional awareness, and build healthier patterns in their relationships and daily lives.
I believe that we are the experts in our life. Utilziing Rogerian Therapy, I focus on the client- providing safe space to share nad provided guidance to support.
I encourage individuals to stay in the present. We will utilize meditation, breathing exercises, and body scans to help with bringing our body and mind to the present.
