I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) that specializes in complex trauma and personality disorders. I also have extensive experience working with those who struggle with mood disorders, depression, anxiety, psychosis, and substance abuse. I have training in various modalities to address the specific needs of my clients. I believe in the importance of connections with others, with ourselves, and with our environment. I believe that we can heal from past experiences and find balance in our lives. I believe that we all have the abilities to find meaning, purpose and live the best quality of life possible.
During our initial session you will expect me to discuss the nature of what therapy is and how it can benefit you in your journey. I will also discuss confidentiality and limits due to mandated reporting. I hope that I can provide you with an idea of who I am and what my therapeutic styles are. Most importantly I want to ensure that you feel comfortable and safe to be able to open up and share. I want to get to know you are an individual and how I can best support and help guide you to your goals in treatment.
I have training in several modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, Psychoanalytical, Narrative, Family Systems, and ARC modalities. I believe the client-therapist relationship is essential in the therapeutic process.
I believe in building healthy trust and boundaries with my client. Establishing a strong rapport between the client and therapist is essential to the therapeutic process. Providing a safe space for the client to explore vulnerabilities and welcome the healing process in a therapeutic environment. I believe it is important to be attune to my client, challenge them when needed, and validate their thoughts and feelings to allow growth and healing in their journey.
