Hi, I’m Paula Nemiroff-Polutanovich, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges, heal from trauma, and find peace. I hold a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University Northridge, I am licensed in California #133147 Montana #67070, and Arizona #16203. My specialized training includes Basic EMDR, CBT, DBT, anger management, and trauma-focused therapy, which allows me to provide deep emotional healing and support to my clients.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
As your therapist, I am dedicated to being present and curious about your unique experiences, which helps me understand you more fully. I believe that honesty is key in therapy, and I strive to create a space where you can be completely open. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where we can work together to foster your growth and celebrate every achievement—big or small. I also believe that growth can come from embracing a healthy amount of conflict and challenging ourselves. If I feel that the client is holding themselves back or selling themselves short, I will encourage them to break through those barriers to discover their full potential.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My multifaceted identities—mother, daughter, sister, wife, friend, teacher, colleague, therapist, and animal lover—have profoundly shaped who I am. These roles allow me to understand the unique challenges and joys of navigating life’s complexities. When we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist; you will connect with someone who truly understands what you are going through and is committed to helping you find healing and growth.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
In my psychotherapy practice, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations, including teenagers, adults, seniors, and individuals with special needs or disabilities. As a fluent sign language user, I am passionate about providing accessible therapy for Deaf and Hearing communities, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to receive support in a way that feels comfortable and inclusive. Please note, that although I am experienced in couple's therapy, I prefer to not do couples therapy due to the lower reimbursement rates than individual therapy.
Eclectic
I like to use the approach/modality that best fits the client and their needs.
