Hello I’m Ayana. Do you find life to be challenging? Are you struggling with an issue or relationship and feel stuck? Do you want to talk to someone but are afraid to reach out for help? I empower high functioning women and men to overcome and manage unbearable anxiety and symptoms of depression. I use a holistic approach to address the needs of the body, mind and Spirit. I also offer a safe, warm, non judgmental and empathetic environment to share your thoughts and experiences. I work collaboratively with each client to help accomplish one’s personal goals for therapy. Using evidenced based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has proven to be effective in recognizing one’s own dysfunctional patterns and learn how to overcome these hangups and habits that have held one back!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Gathering more information regarding the client to complete the intake will take place during the first session along with a brief breathing technique. Sleep hygiene techniques are typically provided during this initial session as sleep is essential to overall functioning. Each client is met with a warmth and empathetic environment which exists during every session going forward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is the compassion and empathy I have for each person who crosses my path. I realize that everyone is on their own personal journey and path in life and I’m honored to walk beside my client to assist with their self identified needs. I’m also able to listen well and provide clinical feedback and support. Holding one accountable too is a strength I have & is appreciated by most to help stay on their own personal growth track!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Assisting clients in learning to recognize dysfunctional patterns and thought processes that impair one's day to day functioning is essential to improving one's life. Client's learn to challenge the accuracy and logic of their thoughts which then helps to decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression. Client's also learn to focus on and enjoy the present moment as much as possible.

Christian Counseling

Incorporating one's faith in God and using this as a strength to help combat life's stressors is essential to overall improved mental, spiritual and emotional well being.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Allowing the client to verbally express themselves without interruption or little input from the therapist, is useful in processing one's issues and many times coming up with their own resolutions in real time. Active and reflective listening is provided as well throughout the session to ensure comprehension of the client's thoughts and feelings.
