Hello! My name is Mayela Razo-Vega and I am a bilingual Spanish speaking Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My goal is to provide individuals with a supportive environment that encourages growth and healing. I am passionate about working with siblings and parents of children with disabilities, young adults dealing with life transitions and/or cultural stressors, and relationship/family issues. Other areas of interest include working with trauma, depression, and anxiety. My experience includes work with a variety of age groups, socioeconomic backgrounds, and life experiences.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My goal for our initial session is to gain an understanding of the problematic symptoms caused by your mental health and from there collaboratively develop a plan to address them. You will be given an overview of the treatment process and orientations that I plan to apply. Together we will determine your goals by finding areas in your mental health and other areas that we want to focus on. With the goals in mind, we will explore many areas of your life to increase your perspective. You can also expect to be able to build upon your strengths and skills, learn coping strategies, and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns all while feeling a sense of empowerment.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Your treatment method will depend on your current symptoms, mental state, and possible past trauma. I incorporate a variety of therapeutic methods and treatment modalities with a focus on meeting you where you are on your journey. Treatment modalities and tools I utilize include CBT, DBT, Person-Centered Therapy, and EMDR.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, I think my biggest strength is being able to provide you with a safe and supportive environment.
