I am certified in Addictions, Trauma, and Narcissism Recovery. I am also a Yoga, Mindfulness, and Meditation Coach. I help people become curious about their emotions rather than fight with them. I help people realize they are not broken, they have picked up coping skills such as drugs or binge eating as protection. Instead of spending time fighting with the self and relapsing, we are going to get to know those parts of ourselves, and learn to regulate ourselves better. This is also true for couples therapy. I think getting to know those parts of us that get angry or shut down is important to our healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is about collecting information and coming up with a plan. We will probably do a mindfulness exercise or coping skill if there is enough time.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a combat veteran who has had numerous experiences with trauma. I am able to empathize with the client and get all perspectives. I, myself, have researched for many years of how to heal himself. My approach is precise. I have over 10 certifications to help clients with trauma, addiction, and grief problems.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT helps us be with our emotions and take actions based on what is important. it is a great tool that I like to use in conjunction with IFS and meditation.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness and meditation helps us change the way we react to our emotions. As a yoga teacher and meditation coach, I use mindfulness and meditation to help us be nonjudgmental and be with our emotions rather than be "fused" with them. I am also a 500 hour yoga teacher and registered in IREST which is modern Yoga Nidra. It is a meditation practice that is helpful in healing trauma. It is used in the military and the VA.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I think it's important that we recognize the the thoughts that stressful events cause. I believe these events cause these thoughts that can change the way we see the world and ourselves. CPT, I believe, can be sued in conjunction with mindfulness and IFS to help us change and ease our parts we want to heal.

EMDR

I am currently becoming certified in EMDR. EMDR is an approach to help a person process a traumatic event better. I am typically going to use IFS and meditations approaches to lead up to EMDR in it's 8 phases.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems Therapy is a treatment therapy that involves looking at different parts of ourselves to treat our traumas.
