In the first session you can look forward to it being about engaging with you, getting to know why you decided to start therapy at this time, telling you about me and my approach and seeing if its a great fit for you. We can also set goals and explore the presenting issues so ititss understood fully by me.
My greatest strengths in sessions are: I am a good listener and i provide good eye contact along with feeling clarification with things stated while providing you with feedback and gentle validation as needed. I love to empower clients to be their best selves and believing in themself as they journey through their healing process.
I would be best matched with anyone who is ready to start working on themselves, not afraid to share and be honest and open with themselves even thought it may be scary. I would be best matched with clients who have never done therapy before but willing to explore their life. I would also be best matched with anyone who has had difficulties being open with a therapist prior or whom felt thy weren't heard or understood. I would be best matched with anyone who wants to be respected, not judged and treated with care.
I along with the client work on challenging and reframing unhelpful thoughts with more constructive ones.
I use this is almost every session to gently encourage clients to open up and explore their thoughts and feelings without feeling judged.
