About me

With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, I provide supportive, practical, and evidence-based psychotherapy for adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life’s many transitions. My practice is rooted in compassion and collaboration—helping you better understand your story, strengthen coping strategies, and move toward meaningful change. Whether you're feeling stuck or simply seeking clarity, I offer a space for reflection and personal growth.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I’ll start by explaining how therapy works, especially around confidentiality—anything you share with me stays private, unless there’s a concern for your safety. I want you to feel comfortable and safe during our time together, and I’ll make sure you understand how everything works. We’ll spend some time talking about what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to get out of it. There’s no rush to share everything right away. I’ll also ask you about your background—things like your family, relationships, work, health, and any past experiences that might be relevant. This is part of a psychosocial assessment, which helps me understand the context of your struggles. I’ll explain the approach I use, whether it’s CBT, DBT, or another method, and we’ll see if it feels like a good fit for you. I want you to feel comfortable with the direction we’re taking, so please feel free to ask questions or share any concerns. At the end of the session, I’ll check in to see how you’re feeling, and we’ll discuss next steps—whether that’s scheduling follow-up sessions, setting goals for our work together, or adjusting anything based on what we talked about. My goal is to create a supportive, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and understood, and we can work together at a pace that feels right for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach draws from a range of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Strengths-Based practices. I also offer support around organization, planning, and self-management for those seeking practical tools in addition to deeper insight. Therapy with me is structured yet flexible, empathetic yet focused. I aim to create a space where you're met with both understanding and effective strategies tailored to your unique needs.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adults (18+) who are managing daily life stressors, executive functioning challenges, interpersonal difficulties, and periods of overwhelm or uncertainty. Whether you’re facing a recent loss, adjusting to a new phase of life, or feeling stuck, therapy can offer clarity, stability, and renewed purpose.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an approach I use to help my clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress or mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, or PTSD.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TICBT) is an approach I use to help clients who have experienced trauma. It integrates the core principles of CBT while emphasizing safety, trust, and empowerment in the therapeutic relationship. I focus on helping clients understand how trauma has impacted their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and how they can heal and regain a sense of control.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic Therapy is an approach I use to help clients explore how unconscious thoughts and past experiences shape their current emotions, behaviors, and relationships. This therapeutic approach is based on the idea that early life experiences, particularly those in childhood, can significantly influence our adult lives, sometimes in ways we're not fully aware of. My goal is to help clients gain insight into these unconscious patterns, so they can understand and heal the root causes of their struggles.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a client-centered, collaborative approach I use to help clients explore and resolve ambivalence about making changes in their lives. MI is particularly useful when clients are stuck or unsure about changing behaviors, whether it's related to addiction, health habits, or other areas of life. The goal is to help clients find their own reasons for change, strengthening their motivation and commitment to take action.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a therapeutic approach I use to help clients manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and develop skills to cope with distressing situations in a healthier way. DBT was originally developed for individuals with borderline personality disorder, but it has since been adapted to treat a variety of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, and self-destructive behaviors like self-harm or substance abuse.
