New to Grow
I'm a licensed clinical social worker who provides a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can slow down, be heard and receive support navigating depression, anxiety and grief. Whether you are struggling with self-doubt, worry, sadness or feelings of the world is just too much, we will work together to sort, explore and gain new skills to make you feel more grounded, understood and empowered. You deserve to feel better.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’re already feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained. Your first session is designed to be a gentle introduction—not an interrogation or a test. We’ll begin by getting to know each other. I’ll ask questions about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been struggling with, and what you hope to gain from our work together. You are always in control of what you choose to share—there’s no pressure to talk about anything before you’re ready. We’ll also review important topics such as confidentiality, boundaries, and how therapy works. This helps create a safe and transparent foundation for our work. If you’re experiencing depression, anxiety, or grief, we may talk about how these challenges are affecting your daily life, relationships, sleep, or sense of self. Your first session is also a time for you to ask questions. You can learn more about my approach, discuss any concerns you may have, and see if this feels like a good fit. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your comfort matters. By the end of the session, we may identify a few initial goals or next steps, but there is no expectation to “solve everything” right away. Many people leave their first session feeling a sense of relief simply from being heard and understood.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What sets my approach apart is the balance between evidence-based structure and genuine human connection. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients understand their thoughts and emotions while also learning how to live meaningfully alongside them. Rather than focusing on “getting rid of” difficult feelings, my work emphasizes building awareness, flexibility, and self-compassion. We explore unhelpful thought patterns, emotional responses, and behavioral habits while also identifying your core values—what truly matters to you—so change feels purposeful and sustainable. Methods I Use CBT techniques to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen problem-solving skills ACT strategies to develop psychological flexibility, mindfulness, and acceptance of difficult emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them Values-based goal setting to align daily actions with what gives your life meaning Skills-focused sessions that provide practical tools you can use between sessions Collaborative treatment planning tailored to your pace, needs, and strengths Results Clients Often Experience Clients often report: Reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression Greater ability to tolerate and manage difficult emotions Improved self-esteem and self-trust Increased clarity, motivation, and emotional balance A stronger sense of purpose and alignment with personal values More confidence navigating grief, loss, and life transitions Therapy with me is not about perfection or quick fixes—it’s about creating lasting change through insight, practice, and compassionate support. Together, we focus on helping you feel more grounded, empowered, and capable of facing life with greater resilience.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is open to exploring their emotions at a pace that feels safe and manageable. You don’t need to have the “right words” or a clear goal for therapy—just a willingness to show up as you are. Together, we work toward building emotional resilience, developing healthy coping skills, and creating space for healing, clarity, and hope.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
While past experiences may be discussed, I primarily focus on your current problems and practical solutions. You as a client are actively involved in session and after session, applying approaches and skills to make each day a little better.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Some things in life are out of our control. I help sort through and identify the things you can control and how to approach changing your life to fit your objectives.
