I'm Gab. I provide counseling to adults and children. I never want you to feel you need to censor yourself or feel "judged" for the shit that crosses your mind (I promise you aren't the only one thinking it anyway). I do not believe "one size fits all" about...well, anything really, but I especially don't think it applies to the therapy setting.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In the first session, clients can expect to feel comfortable. I know in my own therapy, comfortability with my therapist was top priority- how was this relationship going to work if I wasn't comfortable? There is no censoring needed in sessions, and no judgement made by me. You can also expect a touch of dark humor and/or sarcasm throughout sessions.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I feel my open-mindedness and communication skills are my greatest strengths as a provider. And my down-to-earth, no pressure kind of approach to the therapeutic relationship.
