Welcome, I'm Rebecca. Does life throw you curve balls, or does life feel like one big curve ball? No matter what the circumstances may be, having a trusted person to listen and validate, with unconditional positive regard, can bring comfort, and ultimately cure. I welcome the opportunity to hold whatever feels bad and painful, as we work together to nourish your true self, and create a more gratifying and meaningful life. I enjoying working with a wide range of individuals, and specialize in adolescents and young adults, struggling with depression, anxiety and self harm. I understand the difficulties teenagers face, in a world that often feels cruel. I have a certification in the treatment of co-occurring disorders- mental health struggles, combined with substance use issues. I also enjoy working with individuals who identify as a highly sensitive person (HSP), and have keen insight into the life struggles, and unique gifts that HSP's possess. I work particularly well with individuals who may have previous experience with therapy that felt too “cookie cutter”. I do not presume that there is a one formula approach that fits all, and I will validate your unique life experience throughout our work together. Above all, I provide therapy of depth, insight and focus on relationships. Whether you are experiencing adjustment difficulties, emotional problems of living, or chronic mental health struggles, I encourage you to reach out. Therapy is a place to know more about yourself, and also to feel known by another. Feel free to contact me for a free, brief phone consultation. I am humbled by the opportunity to know you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Sessions will include processing the here-and-now, while also make connections to past experiences and relationships that influence the present. This approach allows for a greater understanding of self and leads to a more cohesive sense of identity.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I take a psychodynamic approach, which heavily leans on talk therapy. Behavioral interventions may be prescribed as needed, but much of the work involves successfully talking about what seems to be too difficult to put into words.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength as a therapist is allowing individuals to move through the treatment at their own appropriate pace, which is different for everyone. I do not limit the number of sessions individuals have to work through their goals. I believe in the preventative nature of being in therapy and thus encourage long term treatment.
