Dear Reader, You deserve credit for taking this important step by searching for a provider who can support you on your journey of healing and growth. You might be anxious about making the right choice because you don’t want to waste your time and money. Know that I aim for my clients to experience therapy as a worthy investment. I am a licensed mental health counselor and former dietitian. I offer the perspective of someone who has lived, studied, and worked in two different countries, and who has served people from diverse backgrounds in various settings including inpatient, residential and outpatient care. I provide a combination of insight-oriented and solution-focused psychotherapy. That means that I facilitate better understanding of yourself and your behaviors and I help you find workable strategies that lead to improvements in your life. I enjoy working with people from all walks of life who want to feel better and live their best life. Having said that, I have extensive experience with ASD, OCD, eating disorders, anxiety and depressive disorders, stress related to chronic pain and medical conditions, and trauma informed care.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

You can expect a safe and non-judgmental environment, to be treated with respect and to be listened to attentively. I am here to support your individual goals according to your pace, needs and preferences. You will look at issues from different angles, gain a better understanding of yourself and what you are struggling with, connect dots between past and present experiences, discover and further develop strengths, and develop effective tools and strategies that are workable in your life.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I listen carefully, ask questions, and give feedback. You determine how much structure and direction I provide in session. Here are examples of methods I use: guide you through a relaxation exercise, recall and summarize key points from previous sessions, engage you in a role-play, share educational material related to issues discussed, model ways to reframe negative thoughts, complete a worksheet with you, give writing prompts, assign optional homework, or suggest reading and self-help resources. Change is hard. That’s why I like to recognize and celebrate the small successes that lead to lasting improvements. I tailor treatment interventions to each person's unique needs utilizing a variety of therapy modalities including CBT, DBT and ACT.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I utilize my analytical skills and down-to-earth style to foster deep reflection, untangling of complex problems, insight, and clarity. I am realistic yet encouraging. My practical approach helps you become better equipped at handling challenges and finding your way through major life transitions. Clients with or without health conditions who want to improve their health and wellbeing benefit from my background in health and science as a former dietitian. I enjoy helping young adults including those with autism spectrum disorder adjust well to college life, grow, and perform to the best of their abilities. An additional area of strength and experience is to help people who suffered religious trauma heal and thrive.
