As human beings we experience a seemingly infinite amount of thoughts, feelings, and experiences. And while I am an optimist at heart, I know that life can often feel lonely, unfair, and overwhelming. Trying to navigate these difficult times can be stressful and confusing. You don't have to go through it alone. I believe everyone has the right and the capability to live the kind of life they want, whatever that may look like. I view Therapy as a very human process, as well as a very sacred one. As your therapist, my goal is for our conversations to offer a sense of relief and perspective, while helping foster healthy self-exploration and personal growth. Through supportive conversations, I aim to help you gain a deeper understanding and connection to the values within yourself and the world that surrounds you. My hope is that through this process you will find a life that is authentic, and meaningful...and that you truly enjoy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I like to think of myself as an affable and approachable therapist. I try my best to be as genuine and authentic as possible. I tend to avoid over-using clinical jargon and focus on my clients and what language and communication techniques would best resonate and suit their needs. Therapeutic goals for treatment are always set collaboratively between my client and me. Goals and timeframes will vary depending on the client and their needs. Successful care looks like gaining insight, understanding, and achieving the goals set out at the start of treatment.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

While I am theoretically grounded in narrative and postmodern practices, I believe in using an integrated approach including solution-focused therapy, positive psychology, motivational interviewing, existential-humanistic therapy, family systems, client-centered therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I believe that positive outcomes stem from working collaboratively with clients to build trusting relationships while attending to every person’s unique needs. I believe each client is unique and deserves my respect, as well as my compassion. I treat each client not as a combination of symptoms, but as a human being.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My ideal client is someone who is at least minimally willing. I say this because all my clients come into therapy with different issues, different goals, and different fears. I want to meet the client wherever they are and work from there. Seeking treatment can feel like a daunting task, but as long as there is willingness, I find that it is generally a positive and helpful experience for the client. This being said I feel exceptionally capable of working with Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Substance Use/Abuse, Stage of Life / Change struggles.
