I’m a dedicated bilingual therapist (English and Spanish) based in Texas who wants to help my clients navigate life’s challenges and achieve their personal development goals. I work with my clients to help them learn strategies to cope with issues such as stress, anxiety, and depression. I believe that each person can be guided into finding their inner strength and can build the resilience needed to get through their unique circumstances. In practice, I strive to create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where we can utilize a blend of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and solution-focused therapy to work towards goals on your personalized treatment plan. It’s very fulfilling for me to see clients feel empowered enough to overcome their obstacles, recognize their potential and live more fulfilling and balanced lives. I believe that with the right support and tools anyone of any age can develop the skills needed to cope with life’s difficulties.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Scheduling and showing up for a 1st session is already a big step. We'll go over the process of therapy and I will have a chance to start getting a better understanding about what brought you to counseling. That could mean getting some background history and gathering a list of symptoms that are affecting you right now. We will also set goals for future sessions, which means talking about the things you would like to change, improve or learn about. This could help you have a better sense of what direction to move in and I can answer any questions you might have about therapy if you've never had a session before.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I've worked with an organization for about 10 years that sees clients with a wide range of symptoms. Some clients are there to work on everyday stress while others are going through PTSD that makes it hard for them to work or manage their everyday lives. The clients also had different economic backgrounds such as clients living in a shelter to other clients who owned multiple homes. I believe this experience has helped to make me more well-rounded as a therapist because I understand that mental health can affect anyone regardless of their circumstances. It also means that when I work with a client I will tailor the treatment to their unique circumstances because what may work for one person may not work for another.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapeutic approach that can help reduce stress and other symptoms such as anxiety and depression that get in the way of everyday life. Clients learn about how thoughts, feelings and behaviors influence each other and use the tools that CBT provides them to learn how to improve their mental well-being.

Couples Counseling

Couples counseling can be used to help couples navigate and resolve issues within their relationship by improving things such as their communication skills, conflict resolution skills and improving trust. This can lead to couples having a better understanding of one another and greater overall relationship satisfaction.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) deals with helping clients break down bigger goals into smaller steps and solutions. They can identify challenges that are getting in the way of heir success and can build their confidence along the way by having a better understanding of their strengths and resources.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is the part of the counseling process where clients learn more about their symptoms, what the symptoms mean and how they could be affecting their everyday life. They can also learn more about the process of therapy and what they can do about their symptoms. This can lead to clients having a better understanding of themselves and an improvement in their ability to cope with their symptoms outside of therapy.
