Bienvenidas! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California and Colorado. I serve my clients with a pro-body and anti-diet lens which means I will actively support you in dismantling fatphobia. Along with providing fat-positive wellness, I offer a nurturing space to process career changes, burnout, and becoming a cycle breaker within the BIPOC community. As a first-generation daughter of immigrants, I aim to create a safe and nurturing space with folks who are either new to therapy or are returning.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is all the must needed paperwork! This session is a great way for us to get to know one another, I'm able to gather some background on why you are seeking services and talk about how I might best support you. Our space should feel safe, inviting and at your pace. I encourage my clients to show up as they are - bring your favorite self-soothing items, snacks, or fidgets to support you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Through my awareness and living experience of intersectionality, I feel so privileged in supporting others who have experienced living in a fat body, being first-generation, and breaking generational trauma.

My treatment methods

Supportive

Supportive psychotherapy is a type of therapy that primarily focuses on providing emotional support, encouragement, and validation during difficult life phases. This can be helpful when focusing on current life obstacles.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Ignoring cultural nuances can lead to misdiagnoses, ineffective treatment plans, and poor outcomes. Utilizing a culturally sensitive lens can aid in improved trust, increase communication and understanding in symptom expression and also acknowledging stigma and cultural norms.

Somatic

Implementing somatic therapy cultivates an awareness of bodily sensations, and teaches clients to feel safe in their bodies while exploring thoughts, emotions, and memories which can be supportive to those who have historically felt disconnected from their body.
