I am a licensed mental health counselor who has 18 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I use a combination of cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and positive psychology approaches to help my clients overcome obstacles and limiting beliefs to develop the roadmap for achieving their goals. I also offer online courses.
In our first session together, through the use of the Socratic questioning technique I help draw out from the client what they truly want from their life. Out of this foundation I help my clients develop SMART goals, which are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time Limited. I like to think of myself as a sort of GPS for mental health, I help my clients develop the roadmap for where they want to go in life with the choice of what route to follow being entirely up to them.
Having worked with countless individuals encompassing many different situations and life circumstances from hospital, scholastic and community settings for the past 18 years, I have the knowledge and experience to help people with whatever their struggles might be.
I received extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy and have used it in my work for the past 18 years.
I have studied solution focused therapy at the post graduate level and through continuing education courses and have incorporated into the wide variety of tools I use to help my clients.
In addition to receiving training in the foundational elements of cognitive behavioral therapy, I have also received specialized training in trauma focused cognitive therapy.
In addition to my work with individuals, I have also worked with couples as well for well over a decade. I had provided both premarital counseling as well as to couples in a long term marital or other committed relationship.
