New to Grow
Hi, I’m Meg! I’m passionate about helping young people navigate the challenges of adolescence and discover who they are. I see therapy as a supportive space where individuals can overcome some of life’s toughest challenges, while gaining valuable tools to carry with them throughout their lives. Currently, I work at a middle school, assisting students as they navigate their academic lives during the day. When I’m off duty, you can find me hanging out with my pup or exploring nature. Both are great ways for me to unwind and recharge!
In our first session, the main focus is on getting to know each other. Building a strong connection is the most important part of therapy, and I want to make sure you feel safe and comfortable, even when you're in a vulnerable space. My goal is for you to feel supported and heard as we begin this journey together. I also love to have fun and bring light into sessions!
One of my greatest strengths is my deep care for others. I’ve had the privilege of being a caretaker in many areas of life, and I truly understand the challenges that come with the adolescent years. Having experienced my own struggles, I can relate to the ups and downs of this time in life. I make it a priority to practice the same skills and tools I teach others to navigate tough moments. I genuinely enjoy listening to people, helping them feel seen, heard, and supported as they work through their challenges.
I thoroughly enjoy working with young people who are ready to improve their lives, one step at a time. Those with an open mind and a willingness to accept support often make the deepest connections and progress. I have extensive experience helping young people navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, and peer struggles, and I find it incredibly rewarding to guide them toward growth and resilience.
I use a CBT-based model to help young people explore the links between their thoughts, feelings, and actions. By identifying unhelpful thinking patterns, they can begin to replace them with more balanced and realistic thoughts, leading to improved emotional well-being and behavior.
Strength based therapy is especially helpful for youth going through self-confidence challenges. By building on their existing strengths and challenging negative thinking patterns, they develop more balanced perspectives and greater emotional resilience.
Many young people face emotional intensity, struggles with relationships, and challenges with acceptance. DBT therapy helps to regulate emotions, improve relationships through interpersonal effectiveness, and work towards acceptance of situations no within our control.
