I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. I received my PMHNP license in 2023. Prior to becoming a NP, I was a mental health nurse, nurse educator and mental health change agent for 19 years. As a mental health advocate my goal is to ensure that each client receives individualized, and patient centered care, to help you along your journey to becoming a "new you." I treat individuals with the following mental health disorders: major depressive disorder, anxiety, trauma, and bipolar disorder. Once you book a session, you will receive an email with a link to our session — you can join the telehealth session from the email or from your Client Portal dashboard. Just some FYI's 1. Make sure you complete all forms at least one day prior to your scheduled appointment. IF ALL FORMS ARE NOT COMPLETED-THIS INCLUDES THE INTAKE FORM, YOUR APPOINTMENT WILL BE CANCELED. 2. If your symptoms are severe and you are having any suicidal ideations you will need to find an in-person provider. 3. I don't prescribe any controlled substances or any stimulant medications. 4. I only assess and treat depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders-such as bipolar disorder. 5. If you are prescribed medications, you will need to schedule a monthly follow-up to get medications refilled. You will not get medications refilled without a follow-up appointment. 6. If you don't schedule a follow-up appointment within one month of your last appointment, you will become inactive in the system.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, my goal is to make you feel comfortable. We will start with a brief introduction and you will also provide some background on why you need mental health services. During the session, you will receive a diagnosis, medication mangement and therapy if needed. I will serve the adult and geriatric population and help to identify and treat psychiatric conditions holistically.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I offer a comfortable, relaxed therapeutic atmosphere filled with support and active listening.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I love working with young adults and the elderly with anxiety/panic disorders, mood disorders and trauma. If you are feeling tearful, irritable, or having issues with attention and focus, allow me to help you determine a course of treatment that can help you feel more like yourself. I will use a combination of assessment, evaluation and talk therapy to ascertain any underlying mental health alterations to develop a diagnosis and care plan to promote positive behavioral changes.
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivational intervieing a client-centered, evidence-based communication style that aims to help individuals build motivation and make positive changes in their lives. It is a collaborative approach that focuses on eliciting and reinforcing the client's own reasons for change.

I have been a patient for a couple of years and so glad I have a care provider who is available for appointments, listens without judgement, and offers coping skills to manage my mental health. I wouldn’t have been able to get through some of the extreme life issues without her expert treatment. I never like asking for help or feeling weak, but I’m so glad I did and Ms Cassandra has been a blessing to my life in managing & strengthening my mental health.
