Growing up in a multicultural and multiracial family, I developed an awareness of and interest in how our experiences and environments can shape us in unique ways. This gave me a sense of curiosity about the human experience and how to support people in a way that meets their specific needs. I enjoy the process of working with my clients to increase insight into where their challenges are coming from and how to move toward a more fulfilling life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, you can expect to spend most of the time talking about what brought you into therapy and me asking questions about your current situation and history. This helps give context to your current circumstances and informs what direction to take moving forward in our work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is the compassion I have for the people I work with. My communication style is relaxed and non-judgmental. I view therapy as a collaborative process, and I provide the space and time needed for clients to feel heard and understood. Throughout treatment, I share my insights while also recognizing that each person is the expert on their own life and welcome feedback from clients.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Attachment-based therapy helps us understand how relationships in early life can create patterns that continue in current relationships. We often develop ways of coping with stressors when we are young that may no longer serve us in adulthood. I have found that using this type of therapy creates understanding into how the past is impacting the present and also increases self-compassion throughout the therapy process.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps us understand how thoughts, behaviors, and feelings are connected. Once we find that connection, we can make adjustments that lead to less anxiety and depression and behaviors that are more aligned with your goals.
