I am passionate about helping individuals find hope and healing by the process of therapy. I have a holistic approach to understanding my clients and seek to capitalize on their strengths and talents. I view therapy as a collaborative process. I welcome all parts of you to this space, including your Christian faith. As we work together, it is my goal to support you, encourage you, and help you to make sense of your past as you disentangle it from your present. My office is a caring and safe environment to begin transforming your pain to growth. In 2017, I received my training at Christian Theological Seminary (CTS) in Indianapolis, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling; Later in 2022, I obtained a Doctor of Ministry degree in Practical Theology with a focus on Pastoral Care at CTS. My training focused on psychodynamic theories and techniques in working with individuals, and my theoretical orientation is eclectic as I draw on various therapies and techniques to meet the unique needs of each client; psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy, client-centered and motivational interviewing are some regularly used approaches. I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), having 5+ years of serving individuals with mental health concerns and life challenges. The goal is to walk alongside, support, and challenge people as we work together in meeting therapy goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will begin with introductions and then dive into your specific challenges and concerns. We will discuss mental health diagnoses and the process of forming treatment goals and a plan together. The plan is to create a space where you feel comfortable and safe as we begin the therapeutic relationship; this may involve explaining the therapy process in more detail and answering your questions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I especially enjoy working with clients who have concerns in the areas of faith, grief, self-esteem/self-worth, intimacy, and relationships. I have experienced success in serving such individuals over the past years. Your care will be tailored to help you grow in these areas. For instance, if you're struggling with poor self-esteem, I may walk you through self-affirmations in session and provide prompts for journaling afterward. My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I understand that Christian Counseling, or faith-based counseling, may mean different things to various people. In my practice, it means that together, you and I invite God into the therapy room. At your request, I may pray before and/or after the session. I will utilize both, behavioral science and biblical perspectives to help you grow in your treatment goals. Affirmations, confessions, and renunciations are some faith-based practices that may be relevant to your therapy process.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a commonly used treatment method in which I help individuals change or elevate their thinking and behaviors. Homework assignments are often provided; some are creative and others are as simple as journaling on a topic to bring about gain clarity and self-understanding.
