I'm Mary Gooding-Call, a licensed mental health therapist specializing in neurodivergent therapy for LGBTQIA+ adults. As someone who is both neurodivergent and queer, I understand the unique challenges you face at this intersection. In our work together, we won't try to "fix" what makes you unique. Instead, we'll celebrate your authenticity and help you heal from the trauma of living in a world that told you to hide.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session we will complete a thorough wholistic assessment, to get a sense of what's happening for you. The objective is to get to know each other, so please bring your questions or concerns. It's totally normal to be anxious before your first session, and for the sake of establishing good boundaries you don't have to feel like you have to share your whole life story in the first session.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Clients in the past have described me as warm and nonjudgemental. I aim to create a space where you can feel comfortable be your truest self.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
A Safe Space to Be Yourself: No more performing. No more translating. Just you, exactly as you are, being witnessed and celebrated. Individualized Approach: Your neurodivergence is unique. Your identity is unique. Your therapy will be too. Practical Skills: We'll develop concrete strategies for navigating a neurotypical world while staying true to yourself. Healing-Focused: We'll address the trauma while building resilience and self-compassion. Strengths-Based: You're not broken. You're not a problem to be solved. You're a whole person with incredible gifts.
Psychodynamic
My belief is that many factors play into the person who you are. We will start with a wholistic assessment and develop a treatment plan based on your unique needs.
