Hi I'm Shan :) ! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who's been working as a therapist since 2018. I'm big hearted, non judgmental and believe in the healing power of authenticity. I've worked with individuals of all ages on a wide scope of issues and strongly believe that I learn and grow alongside each and every person I work with.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session together, I hope to create a safe and comfortable environment for you to share with me what brought you this moment. We will work together to create a plan of care that fits you, meets you where you are at, and helps you grow.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strength lies in seeing you holistically, and working with you where you're at to achieve the change you hope for. I strive to help you uncover your strengths and inner voice that have been with you all along, and empower you on our collaborative journey of healing.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

I strongly believe in holistic care, and trauma-informed care embodies this belief. This approach recognizes that each individual is unique, and so are their experiences and traumas. With this is model the emphasis is on treatment plans that fit each individual, meets them where they are at, and focuses on safety and collaboration to avoid re-traumatization.

Strength-Based

I believe that as each person is the expert of their own life experiences they also are their own agents of change. It is the goal of the therapist to help each individual identify these strengths and recognize their own value, and become empowered to create the change they desire.

Somatic

There are times that we have felt unsafe in our body, and often as a coping mechanism we utilize dissociative tactics to deal with this, and though this works for a time, in the long term it severs the relationship between the body and mind. Somatic framework helps to rebuild and heal that relationship and create understanding within our natural internal systems.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe in meeting a person where they are at and building a safe space and trusting rapport and this approach supports this. Each person is the expert of their own life experiences and utilizes the importance of the client-therapist relationship to support each individual in uncovering new insights and solutions.
