Hello, I am Darius, Do you feel that you worry uncontrollably, or even develop a million "what if" scenarios which may be impacting your daily functioning? Do you feel as though the weight of the world is on your shoulders, but you do not quite know where to get started? I help individuals gain a better understanding of the things they have control over versus those things that they do not. I specialize in helping individuals to better manage both anxiety and depressive symptoms while increasing their level of daily functioning. I am an LCPC who specializes in anxiety and depression and helps individuals build confidence in themselves, as well as develop the appropriate coping skills to help them live the life that is best fitting for them. We will be using several therapeutic techniques to help you accomplish the goals that you set for yourself. We will be using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, as well as existential therapy throughout the process. I believe as a therapist that you already have every answer that you are looking for, and it is my job to help you find these answers and apply them to your life in an effective manner. During the first session the client should expect to be introduced to my practice, and my style of counseling. Clients will review the paper work they submitted, or complete paper work if they have not done so already. Client should expect a warm and friendly environment, that helps to ease any discomfort or nervousness that are associated with meeting new individuals. During the first session you should be ready to discuss what you feel you would like to work on in session, as you are in charge of your treatment.
The biggest strength that I possess is helping clients to see the value that they have as individuals. Building confidence and assertiveness in clients is the foundation of the therapy approach that I like to use. It is my responsibility as your therapist to help to live in the moment that we are in. The past is history and the future is unknown, all we have is the moment and we have to make the most of each moment we get.
The ideal client is one who is motivated and ready to tackle whatever concerns they have coming into counseling. I work well with those who keep an open mind and an open heart when it comes to counseling. The counseling journey can be a complicated process, and so commitment and dedication are required for meaningful progress to be made. Clients who are consistent and committed are able to reach their goals in a timely manner, without rushing the therapeutic process.

The main treatment method that we like to utilize is cognitive behavioral therapy. I am a strong believer that if we can change one's mindset, then we can change one's behaviors. Often our mindset leaves space for anxiety and depression to work its way in, and this increases the stress that we currently have to face daily. I like to use an existential approach as well to help clients see that there is value in their lives and that we all have the potential to be great if we so choose.
