New to Grow
I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience diagnosing, treating, and managing mental health conditions across the lifespan. I provide compassionate, evidence-based care using approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and medication management. My treatment style focuses on educating clients, creating individualized plans, and empowering them to take an active role in their wellness. I am committed to reducing stigma, improving access to quality care, and supporting individuals through a holistic and culturally sensitive lens.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, my goal is to create a calm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you feel heard and understood. I’ll start by getting to know you—your concerns, symptoms, history, and what brought you to seek support. We’ll talk about your goals, what you hope to change or improve, and any previous treatment experiences you’ve had. I’ll ask questions to help me understand how your mental health is affecting different areas of your life, and I’ll answer any questions you have about therapy or medication. By the end of the session, I’ll share my initial impressions and discuss a plan tailored to your needs whether that includes therapy, coping strategies, medication management, or a combination. You won’t need to have everything figured out. The first session is about connection, clarity, and comfort, not perfection. My role is to guide you, not judge you.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What sets my approach apart is the combination of evidence-based care and genuine human connection. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatment, I take time to understand each client’s story, culture, strengths, and struggles so I can create a plan that fits their real life. I use practical, results-focused methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), supportive psychotherapy, and medication management when needed. Clients appreciate that I explain things clearly, involve them in decisions, and focus on strategies they can actually apply outside the session. My clients often say they feel safe, supported, and empowered working with me. They notice improvements not just in symptoms, but in confidence, coping, mood, and daily functioning. I focus on progress, not perfection, and I walk with clients at their own pace while still helping them move forward.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with individuals who are ready to take an active role in their mental health journey, even if they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to start. I support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, and life stressors that affect daily functioning. Many of my clients are high achievers, caregivers, professionals, students, or women juggling multiple roles who need a safe, judgment-free space to process their experiences. I’m especially effective with clients who want practical strategies, emotional support, and culturally sensitive care. Whether their goal is to improve mood, manage symptoms, build coping skills, strengthen relationships, or regain a sense of control, I meet them where they are and guide them toward realistic, sustainable healing
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns that impact their emotions and behaviors. During sessions, we work on recognizing unhelpful thinking, reframing it into healthier perspectives, and practicing coping strategies they can apply in real-life situations. I also incorporate goal setting, thought records, and behavioral activation to help clients break cycles of anxiety, depression, and avoidance.
