Hello and Welcome! I'm glad you're here today. I’m Lauren Bagwell, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, passionate about helping clients to achieve mental wellness, positive change, and fullness of life. I believe that reaching out for help takes courage, but that’s where the healing begins, one conversation at a time. Whether you are experiencing new or ongoing challenges, my job is to provide a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental space for you to talk, process, problem solve, and heal. I most often utilize a "client-centered approach" but draw heavily from trauma-informed care utilizing EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Solution Focused, and Family Systems frameworks. My ultimate goal will be for you to leave each session feeling respected, capable, confident, and empowered to make changes on your own terms. I consider it a tremendous privilege whenever someone allows me to become a part of their journey. My intention is to bring warmth, compassion, authenticity, and optimism into each session. My approach is collaborative, so I will help you to set the agenda for each session. As we work together we will discuss your current challenges & barriers to your goals. My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My approach to therapy relies heavily on the therapeutic relationship. It is my belief that connection, safety and trust are the cornerstones of healthy relationships, including the relationship established in therapy. Through this relationship, my goal is to aid individuals in making the changes they desire, resulting in feeling more awake to life and connected with themselves and loved ones. I am experienced in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and trained in EMDR (the gold standard treatment for trauma). As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with individuals, couples, families, adolescents/children. With adults I have experience working with trauma/PTSD, substance use/addiction, anxiety, depression, relational distress and mood disorders. My experience with children and teens includes depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, self-harm, autism and self-esteem. I utilize a wide variety of treatment modalities including attachment theory, EMDR, person-centered, DBT behavioral strategies, family systems theory, relational therapy, and mindfulness. My goal as a therapist is to provide the safety and nurturing that will allow my clients to find a greater sense of belonging, self-love, vibrance, and peace.
