Hey there! I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania. I also have my LPC license in South Carolina. I received my masters degree in professional counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2018 and have been focusing on trauma informed care since. I work with adolescents and adults struggling with trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, and all the side effects that stem from those.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session, I like to go over the intake form personally to ensure I am understanding of the information you provided. I will ask questions to get to know you better, leave the floor open for questions to be asked for me so you can get to know me better and we start to develop a treatment plan together to ensure we are always staying on track and not wasting any time or money.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
As a prior military wife, I have had so many opportunities to talk and work with trauma survivors from all walks of life. I, too, am a trauma survivor and I feel that my personal experience, combined with my professional experience, not only brings a sense of professionalism but also a more genuine and deeper level of empathy and understanding for clients. I also understand and encourage dark humor when working through the therapeutic process. Although it is not appropriate for every client, I encourage those who do find comfort in dark humor to use it.
