I came to be a therapist following a long career in the non-profit world. I believe that my life experiences shape who I am as a therapist and I understand that trust is at the core of any relationship I have with clients. I love helping clients understand their experience and how it has shaped them. I know that choosing to go to therapy is not an easy decision and can be very overwhelming. I want to help clients make this decision one they can look back on and know it was worthwhile.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first sessions will be centered around making a connection. We can talk about what you are struggling with, your relationships and your strengths. I am first and foremost very easy going and want to make sure my clients are comfortable and relaxed.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my strengths are mainly centered around my laid back and easy nature. Clients have to feel comfortable in order for the therapeutic process to work. The client and therapist relationship is vital and has to be fostered.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT for many clients to help them understand how they can better handle difficult or negative situations in their lives. CBT helps clients thoughtfully and effectively handle problems and learn to better communicate with family and friends.

Narrative

I love narrative therapy and how it helps clients shape their problems as the things that happen to them. Allowing the client to share their story and process how their experiences have shaped them.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma informed care is vital to those who have things they need to process in their lives. It gives the client the safety and empowerment to truly understand and cope with their experiences.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I have had the privilege of working with clients from many different cultures and understand how important it is to always keep their values and beliefs, rituals and norms at the forefront of the therapist/client relationship.
