Therapy is the process of meeting with a licensed mental health professional to help you resolve problematic behaviors, thoughts, feelings and sensations. Through therapy you can change self-destructive behaviors, resolve painful memories, improve relationships and more. With commitment and time you will be able to live a mentally and emotionally healthy life. I have specialty training in the following treatment modalities: EMDR Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing; CBT Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; DBT Dialectical Behavioral Therapy; Motivational Interviewing; Ego States Therapy; Perinatal Mental Health and TFCBT Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I use a combination of these modalities in my treatment of clients based on their individual needs.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
The process of therapy starts with me conducting a comprehensive clinical assessment. You and I will meet to develop goals for our work together. I will use a variety of treatment approaches and interventions tailored to your unique needs. I will strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment for which you can learn, explore and grow. Therapy may be uncomfortable at times as change creates disequilibrium, however, the gains made in therapy will help you live your best life.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I have over 20 years experience treating community members with mental health issues. I have years of specialized training in several different modalities. Most of all I have a passion for helping people. Therapy feeds my soul as it is my purpose in this lifetime.

EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. (EMDR) is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma, PTSD and adverse life experiences, anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain and addictions.
Mind-body approach
Mind-body approach to therapy is the connection our bodies have to our emotional health and wellbeing. Our bodies are naturally geared to move towards healing. Healing is our biological imperative. I will teach you skills to listen to your body, recalibrate your fear response and increase cues for safety.
Attachment-based
I use an attachment focused approach to treatment. The relationships we have with our primary caregivers changes our mind and brain in ways that drive our emotions, behavior, memories and responses. If our early relationships were challenged it wires us for cues of danger rather than safety. It affects our ability to feel safe within ourselves, with others and the world. It impairs our ability to emotionally regulate and have healthy relationships. My approach is to offer support, empathy and attunement with my clients to foster reparative relational experiences.
