Life can be hard; you don't have to navigate it alone. I believe in creating a nonjudgmental environment where all clients can feel safe. I am open to working with all individuals. My passion for helping others has been evident throughout the last 20 years of working with children and families. Through my experiences I have learned how to interact with a diverse group of people, which has increased my ability to relate to others. I am passionate about walking alongside clients as they navigate changes and growth. I would be honored in working together with you in creating a journey of joy, peace, and healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Your first session is about setting a good foundation. It's an opportunity to learn more about what you can achieve and how the process works. Most importantly, you can start to evaluate how you feel with me and you make the determination about if we are good fit. It's also a great time to ask lots of questions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

It takes an immense amount of courage to seek help and embark on a journey of personal growth. My priority is to ensure that I understand and appreciate the person that you are. Empowering you to become the best version of yourself and provide you with the needed tools to build and maintain healthy authentic relationships in your life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Using CBT has helped my clients; CBT aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts. You're shown how to change these negative patterns to improve the way you feel. Cognitive distortions are common and often happen automatically, without question. Over time, the process of questioning and replacing negative thoughts can transform our thought processes.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT to teach individuals that accepting yourself and changing your behavior can achieve both goals. DBT also helps people develop mindfulness skills, which can help them focus on the present moment, pay attention to their thoughts and feelings, and use healthy coping skills when experiencing emotional pain.

Adlerian

I use the Adlerian theory for those clients that are in search of a holistic approach; I emphasize the importance of overcoming feelings of inferiority and gaining a sense of belonging in order to achieve success and happiness.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

With clients I use this approach to explore culturally relevant themes; this allows me to fully understand my clients and identify their cultural strengths and challenges. Therapy is not a one size fits all; it is important to me to ensure that my clients cultural diversity is taken into consideration during the therapeutic process.
