Welcome and congratulations on taking this important step towards prioritizing your well-being. I'm Jessica, a licensed clinical social worker. I'm dedicated to creating a safe space for connection, exploration, discovery, and support as you navigate this marvel called life, which is full of complexities, transitions, challenges, possibilities, and opportunities. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with adults, children, adolescents, families, and professionals during life's ups and downs. These experiences have reinforced my belief that growth, resiliency, and achieving one's goals are possible for each of us. With the guidance of a compassionate and skilled therapist, I believe that transformation and healing are within reach. I welcome the opportunity to partner with you and support you through this process.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we usually start with introductions to get to know one another, but it is important for me to understand how you feel about therapy. I recognize that people engage in therapy for many reasons and have different perspectives about therapy, especially if this is your first experience with therapy. That is why I like to provide clarity around the therapy process and talk about any initial thoughts and concerns you may have. Understanding what led you to make that first call and your expectations from this experience is key. Another goal for our initial meeting is to begin building a collaborative relationship. This will set a foundation for our work together, as we develop a road map that aligns with the goals and aspirations you had in mind when you first reached out. Furthermore, it is important to me that by the end of our first meeting, you are able to leave with a good sense of who I am as your potential therapist. Therapy is rewarding but can also be challenging, so it is crucial you feel that you can build trust and a connection with me. My hope is that you can determine with confidence if I am the right person to join you on this journey of growth and empowerment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I bring a genuine compassion and care for my clients coupled with authenticity and the ability to meet people where they are. I am a skilled practitioner with a broad wealth of professional and life experiences, which allows me to be relatable within the context of the therapeutic relationship. One of my biggest strengths as a therapist is my ability to truly listen- not merely hearing, but understanding the emotions and experiences behind them. This strength aids me in forming quick connections and establishing trust, fostering a safe environment where you feel seen and heard without any judgment, enriching our conversations and your journey of healing and growth.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

During challenging times, many seek comfort and guidance in their faith. As a fellow believer, my goal is to create an inviting space where people can rely on Biblical teachings to find strength in surmounting challenges and to uncover hope and comfort amidst their everyday trials.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

With over 15 years of experience, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) continues to be a fundamental framework I use to help individuals manage persistent and challenging thoughts. This involves aiding them in understanding the interconnection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. However, the process doesn't end there. We apply this understanding by exploring and adopting different thinking patterns that lead to healthier thought processes and reduced anxiety.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Through this approach, I maintain my role as a listening and affirming partner to individuals as they discuss and process issues that are important to them, fostering their personal growth. By employing empathy, affirmation, and reflection, I aim to ensure individuals feel heard, supported, and understood.

Interpersonal

Often, we encounter conflicts and difficulties with others, whether at work, in relationships, or in various situations. Given our diverse roles, it can be tough setting appropriate boundaries and effectively interacting with others. Adopting this approach, i come alongside for one to enhance one's coping and communication skills, bolster assertiveness, and promote the setting of healthy boundaries.

Trauma Informed Care

Many individuals have experienced challenging events that impact their daily lives. Such events may evoke memories or thoughts that interfere with their daily routine. By employing trauma-informed care, I help people process the emotions and thoughts tied to these experiences, equipping them with methods to manage intrusive thoughts and minimize life disruptions.
