Welcome, I'm Britni. I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) and a licensed clinical addictions specialist (LCAS) in NC. I have been practicing as a licensed clinician for 9 years. Change is one of the most difficult but inevitable parts of life. I have a passion for helping people work thru the obstacles they face in working to make positive changes in their life. I'd be happy to work together with you regardless of the types of challenges you find yourself facing today.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session together I'll ask you some questions to get to know a little bit about you, the challenges that you are facing, and what you hope to get out of our time together. This will guide me in creating an individualized plan that we will work thru in follow up sessions to help you work towards your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have a strong clinical knowledge base that allows me to help a variety of clients using evidenced based counseling techniques. I am a natural problem solver and enjoy guiding others in figuring out the challenges that they face so that they can overcome them and live their best life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have utilized CBT with clients facing a variety of challenges for the past 10 years. CBT is an evidenced based treatment that I use to help you better understand the relationship between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how that might be contributing to your anxiety or depression. I then use this information to help you make changes that will lead to overall improved mental health.

EMDR

I have been trained in the use of EMDR to assist clients that may be experiencing difficulties with trauma related symptoms. EMDR can be very useful in helping you to process trauma and work on being able to move forward in a healthy way.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use solutions focused therapy to help you focus in on short term goals and find solutions for the barriers that are keeping you from achieving them. This strategy can be paticularly useful for those wanting to focus on the present and future instead of hashing through things from the past.
