Hello, I'm a licensed professional counseling based in Pennsylvania. I have worked in the counseling field for many years. I work from a framework of solution focused therapy but utilize many strategies and therapeutic techniques. Overall I strive to create an atmosphere of acceptance to make individuals feel comfortable in sharing the struggles that have brought them to therapy, and in realizing they deserve the assistance that will help them flourish and obtain the things in life they are striving for.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First sessions with my clients are introductions, answering any questions and gathering any necessary demographic information. I then begin to ask about identified problems, or situations, feelings or concerns that have brought a person to counseling. Often this phase unfolds slowly and I will go at the client's pace and comfort level. By the end of the first session I will have a basic idea to share with the client of how and in what order we will begin to approach the primary problems. The client is the driver and plans can become flexible as sessions progress.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths are providing an atmosphere of acceptance and lack of judgment to allow people to feel safe and free to discuss issues they may never have voiced before to any other person. And also to truly listen and respectfully suggest available options to assist them in taking steps toward change and attainment of goals.

My treatment methods

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy

For many clients who have experienced trauma or who are struggling with anxiety and panic, beliefs they hold about themselves come from statements made to them earlier in their lives. These could come from many sources, but are often of a judgmental or critical/ negative nature and if repeated frequently, become part of a person's internal belief system about themselves. These can impede progress on developing confidence and sef-esteem and can keep individuals from achieving their goals. This therapy helps identify and provide rebuttal to these internal beliefs abd resolve the hesitancy to develop their strengths.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Many times a client needs assistance removing roadblocks in day to day life before starting to delve into deeper issues. Working on practical suggestions to remove these impediments which may concern adequate safety, housing, emoyment, finances can allow for the sense of stability that enhances therapeutic work on longer standing issues.
