My therapy experience, training and background have leaned into working with people who feel stuck in a vacuum of anxiety ond depression, lack of motivation, and an inability to see with clarity outside of the circumstances in which they find themseves. My second niche spans gender and sexuality, and I've worked with communites marginalized in gender and sexuality, providing help with sexual dysfunction, out-of-control sexual behavior, relationship issues, and those relating to gender.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I'm fairly relaxed and project welcome and safety, so the backdrop of the session is making the client feel comfortable in therapy. Usually there is a combo of entering into a person's story and looking for clues to see what can help them in the immediate. They should leave more relaxed than when they began the session, and hopeful for an ongoing journey.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

People new to counseling will discover that being with an expert active listener is an amazing experience, as this helps client "untangle" the messy thought processes in their heads. However, it is also helpful for clients to be able to practice ways to untangle themselves when they are not in therapy, and to learn strategies in effective reflection, time management, meditation, self-motivation, and self-awareness, and other techniques that use bodily senses. Those that arrive with trauma may also need therapies such as Internal Family Systems or EMDR.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My inviting and casual nature helps most people feel relaxed with me, like talking to a friend who also has the potential of helping them in their areas of need. They will be heard and seen first, and so it will be easier for them to explore the things that are troubling. They'll likely find also that the therapy process, even though it comes from a wounded or vulnerable place, can be a lighter process than they expected and often something that they look forward to.
