Are you looking to improve your emotional experience or going through a life transition? Do you feel over whelmed or anxious because you are stagnant and not gaining the results in life you desire? Perhaps you feel you are banging your head against the wall trying to recover, set boundaries or get through a dramatic change or transition in your life? I get it, overcoming the hurdles life throws at you can be challenging, I look forward to working together to find clarity and facilitate change! I focus on your individual strengths and help guide you to find solutions that work best for you.
I try to make my clients feel at ease since the first session can feel the most intrusive. Generally we will discuss what brought you to therapy in the first place and how long symptoms have been present and what capacity they are problematic. We will explore your desire for therapy and continue to build trust and rapport. I tend to use some humor and metaphors to ease the awkwardness about the first session.
I specialize in working with individuals who are struggling or are facing a new phase of life. Working with people who are anxious about this transition or want to improve their emotional state is where I excel. New job, recent move, a graduate or even a new parent. All of the "new" can be scary and intimidating and I enjoy helping people navigate the uncharted territory and face the scary. If you are feeling stuck, scared or anxious about some change that is about to occur or has just taken place, we may be a good match. I also like to use metaphors and different ways to break down abstract ideas to make things more palatable for you. Therapy can be difficult so I try to make it as easy as I can for you to look in the mirror and create the change you desire.
I love working with people who are having a big transition and feeling stuck. Whether it be new parents, just graduating school, a new relationship or even job dissatisfaction, I enjoy helping clients work through those sticky points in life. I am also trained in perinatal mental health (before, during and after pregnancy) I love helping expecting and new families thrive during the biggest life transition.
I take an eclectic approach, meaning I pull from different therapeutic methods to create a plan that’s tailored to you. No two clients are the same, so I combine evidence-based techniques with creative, holistic strategies that match your goals and personality. This flexibility allows us to find what works best for you, whether that’s building coping tools, exploring past experiences, or focusing on present challenges.
In my work, I use a client-centered approach, which means I create a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel truly heard and accepted. I believe you are the expert on your own life, so my role is to walk alongside you, helping you uncover your strengths, values, and inner wisdom. Together, we focus on building trust, deepening self-awareness, and empowering you to move toward meaningful change at your own pace.
I practice from a trauma-informed perspective, which means I recognize how past experiences can shape your current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we work at a pace that feels safe for you, building trust and focusing on empowerment. My goal is to help you regain a sense of control, resilience, and healing while honoring your story and strengths.
With narrative therapy, I support you in exploring and reshaping the stories you tell about yourself and your life. Often, the way we view our struggles can keep us feeling stuck. Together, we separate you from the problem, highlight your strengths, and create new, empowering narratives that reflect the resilience and values you want to live by.
