Hello! I’m a psychiatric nurse practitioner based in New York with specialized training from Stony Brook University. I work with individuals of all ages, providing comprehensive care to help them overcome ADHD, depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. My goal is to support my clients in returning to their normal daily routines with improved mental health and well-being. In addition, I help young adults struggling with career stress and burnout become the best versions of themselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our initial session together, clients can expect a structured and supportive environment aimed at understanding their unique needs and concerns. We’ll begin with introductions to establish rapport and build a comfortable therapeutic relationship. Following this, we’ll delve into a comprehensive assessment, focusing on gathering detailed background information, medical history, family history, childhood experiences, and current stressors. This thorough exploration allows us to gain a holistic understanding of your situation and lays the foundation for developing a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals. Throughout the session, I encourage open communication and welcome any questions or concerns you may have.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a psychiatric provider, my greatest strengths lie in my holistic approach to care and my commitment to integrating various therapeutic modalities to best meet the needs of my patients. I believe in treating the whole person, addressing not only their psychiatric symptoms but also their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. By incorporating integrative care practices such as psychotherapy, medication management, lifestyle interventions, and complementary therapies, I strive to provide comprehensive and personalized treatment plans that empower my patients to achieve optimal mental health and overall wellness.

My treatment methods

Supportive

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I incorporate supportive therapy into my practice to assist clients in coping with their symptoms, improving their quality of life, and enhancing their overall mental well-being. Supportive therapy is grounded in establishing a therapeutic alliance between the client and the therapist. This alliance serves as a foundation for trust, empathy, and collaboration throughout the therapeutic process. By fostering a supportive and nonjudgmental environment, clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. In my experience, supportive therapy is particularly beneficial for individuals dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, and adjustment to life changes. It provides clients with a space to express themselves openly and receive validation for their experiences. Through active listening and empathic responses, I strive to validate clients’ emotions, normalize their experiences, and offer practical strategies for coping and problem-solving. Additionally, supportive therapy focuses on enhancing clients’ strengths and resilience, empowering them to tap into their innate resources to navigate life’s challenges. By encouraging self-reflection and self-awareness, clients gain insights into their patterns of thinking and behavior, which can lead to positive changes and personal growth.

Integrative

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I incorporate integrative care into my practice to address the multifaceted needs of my patients. Integrative care combines conventional psychiatric treatments with complementary and alternative approaches to promote holistic well-being. This approach recognizes the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and emotional health, and aims to optimize outcomes by addressing all aspects of an individual’s health. In my experience, integrative care has proven to be effective in enhancing the overall treatment outcomes for my patients. By incorporating various modalities such as psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, lifestyle interventions, and complementary therapies like mindfulness, yoga, and acupuncture, I am able to tailor treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient. Integrative care allows me to empower my patients to take an active role in their healing process and provides them with a diverse range of tools and strategies to manage their symptoms and improve their overall quality of life. By addressing the underlying causes of mental health concerns and promoting self-care practices, integrative care fosters long-term resilience and well-being.
