Hi! I'm a licenced therapist (LCSW) I provide holistic, trauma informed therapy that focuses on the body, mind and spirit to bring lasting change. My approach is collaborative, warm and compassionate and utilizes a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Strength Based Therapy, (non toxic) Positive Psychology. I am licensed in California, Illinois, Indiana, Texas.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Together, we will identify your challenges and goals - where you want your life to be a month, six months, a year from now. Then, we'll identify options and strategies you can use to get there. You'll leave the session with a better understanding of what you're facing with an "actions I can take right now" approach. There will always be room for suggestions concerning our work together, including keeping each other accountable.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths are assisting people to gain a better understanding of their emotions, identify roadblocks and obstacles to optimal mental health, overcome anxiety and insecurities, cope with stress, process previous traumatic experiences, work on breaking unhealthy habits, discuss possible lifestyle changes, pinpoint triggers.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past five years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

For the past five years I have utilized Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT therapy) is a type of mindful psychotherapy that helps you stay focused on the present moment and accept thoughts and feelings without judgment. It aims to help you move forward through difficult emotions so you can put your energy into healing instead of dwelling on the negative.

Strength-Based

For the past five years I have utilized Strengths-based therapy. It is a theoretical orientation and approach to psychotherapy treatment based in positive psychology. A strengths-based therapist focuses on the client’s existing resources, resilience, and positive qualities in an effort to use these abilities to improve quality of life and reduce problematic symptoms.

Grief Therapy

For the past five years I have utilized Grief therapy. It is often referred to as grief counseling or bereavement counseling. It’s a type of psychotherapy that’s specifically designed to help you to cope with: the loss of a loved one or pet job transitions moving-related loss changes in romantic relationships, such as divorce or breakups.

Psychodynamic

For the past five years I have utilized psychodynamic therapy. It helps people gain insight into their lives and present-day problems. They also evaluate patterns people develop over time. Reviewing certain life factors in therapy: Emotions Thoughts Early-life experiences Beliefs Recognizing recurring patterns can help people see how they avoid distress or develop defense mechanisms to cope. This insight may allow them to begin changing those patterns.
