Hi everyone! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Florida. I obtained my Masters of Social Work from Florida State University in 2020. I've been working with a diverse clientele since then with various problems and disorders. I strive to create an atmosphere that is non-judgmental, supportive, caring, and safe for all clients from every walk of life. It's my pleasure to help clients reach the best version of themselves. I utilize a client-centered approach that allows you to be in the driver's seat of our sessions. Your resources and strengths are what got you this far, so I intend to highlight those qualities and characteristics for you because sometimes it's hard to recognize those for ourselves. Even small successes are successes and accomplishments. If you choose me as your therapist, we will collaborate to address your concerns and work toward reaching your goals. I use several evidence-based techniques in my work, however, the models I use primarily are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-focused care, Mindfulness, and strength-based approaches.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During your first session, you can expect brief introductions first, then we will dive into what brings you to therapy and the goals you want to accomplish together. We'll create a personalized plan that we will use to keep us on track in treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with a wide range of clients, including kids as young as 6 to older adults as old as 85, and everything in between. However, my ideal client is aged between 13-35. I have experience with working with clients presenting with various mental health concerns, of different cultural backgrounds, and who identify as part of the LBGTQIA+ community. I consider myself an ally for all clients and I will support you however I can, and meet you where you are at in your life. I consider myself to be kind, compassionate, caring, supportive, and empathetic. Whatever you have been through or are going through currently, your experiences matter and your feelings are valid and important. I hope to help you get to a point where you feel like you are thriving and not just living.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT to assist clients in identifying and challenging/reframing negative thought patterns and beliefs contributing to mental health symptoms. I also use this to assist clients in developing positive coping strategies to reduce symptoms. CBT is a theory that says thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence each other, and I can help you stop the cycles that contribute to symptoms and stressors.

Psychoeducation

Many people overlook and don't think about the importance of gaining knowledge about mental health disorders and how it can influence daily living. Knowing about your symptoms, possible causes, and treatment options can be so powerful in itself.

Eclectic

Sometimes, there is not just one correct approach to help a client. Eclectic therapy allows me to draw techniques from various approaches that are individualized for you and your needs.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Sure, therapy is a safe space for people to express their problems, symptoms, and concerns, but it is also important to focus on the future and goal setting. Let's focus on finding solutions to those problems and using positivity to help us reach those goals.

Motivational Interviewing

If you are considering a difficult decision, or wanting to change a habit, I will use motivational interviewing to help you address any ambivalence that may be holding you back. We will identify what stage of change you are in and problem solve ways to make this decision easier for you.
