Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in Georgia. I received my Master's degree from Webester University in South Carolina and have been practicing for 4 years. my goal is to provide services to individuals overwhelmed by life’s challenges and difficulties. While navigating through life sometimes there may be barriers that cause you to lose sight of the qualities and strengths that you possess.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session we will go over the intake form, HIPAA and any other forms sent out prior to our session. We will get to know each other and establish rapport. We will also go over ground rules and expectations for future sessions. Ensure that client feels valued, respected and in a safe, non-judgmental space. Help client to understand that it's their session and their journey and I am here to help them navigate through their process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with the veteran population for 13 years, specifically advocating and serving women who have faced trauma, anxiety, among other issues. Also, I am a veteran who faced challenges and difficulties during my military service. I count it an honor to serve those who have served and those who have not. I will treat all those that I serve with the dignity and respect that they deserve. I have also had the pleasure of serving both women and men in the civilian population as well. I would have to say that my greatest strength is helping clients feel that they are in a safe, nonjudgemental space and I am a great listener.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavorial (CBT) in treatment because of the educational aspects. This treatment method helps clients gain an understanding of how to modify their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to achieve a sense of balance. My aim is to provide clients with goals and coping skills that will empower and equip them with the tools they need for mental health and emotional well-being. I use CBT to help my clients work through anxiety, depression and trauma.

Christian Counseling

As a Pastor who is a License Professional Counselor, Christian Counseling (CC) integrates biblical and Christian principles into sessions per client's request. I will also use biblically based strategies that aid in meeting the client's emotional and spiritual healing process. The Cc will provide biblically centered counseling tools to help client navigate through decisions and crises. Based on the clients need CC can also incorporate prayer, scriptures, biblical wisdom and other faith-based practices. As a CC I will utilize clinical techniques that may overlap with secular counseling techniques. Clients are free to express their beliefs and faith to assist them in meeting their goals and meeting their mental health needs.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT is great because it is designed for brief sessions, normally five or less weeks, with sessions lasting around 45 minutes. Also, SFBT can be adjusted to meet the needs of most clients to include, individual, couples, group, or even family therapy. Usually, I use SFBT when working with clients who are dealing with stress, self-esteem, and depression. I also use it with pastoral counseling because most partitioners require minimal session. SFBT is also strength based because instead of revisiting past traumas and assessing perceived shortcomings, SFBT focuses on your strengths. This helps give clients the motivation and confidence they need to achieve their goals.
