Hi! I'm Denisa Washington, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Austin, Texas. Originally from Greenville, Mississippi, I earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Counseling in 2015 and have extensive experience in crisis management, trauma intervention, and life transitions. Recently, I’ve been working with clients exiting abusive relationships and providing them with the tools to navigate these challenges. My goal is to provide compassionate, empathetic, and eclectic therapy to help clients heal, grow, and find new directions in their lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions and an exploration of your current situation and past experiences. This session will help me understand your unique challenges and goals, allowing us to create a tailored plan to support your healing and growth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider lie in my extensive experience with crisis management and trauma intervention, gained from working in diverse settings like Travis County Jail and Rock Springs Hospital's Help for Heroes military unit. My eclectic approach, which includes skills in DBT and CBT, allows me to offer compassionate, empathetic, and effective therapy tailored to each client's unique needs. My commitment to supporting clients through their most challenging times makes me a unique and effective therapist.
