I have been practicing in the fields of trauma healing, addiction, grief and life transitions for over thirty years. I began my work with the Visiting Nurses Association in Hospice programs educating clinicians on understanding the process of grief and the life transition facing those left behind. I began working with addiction and sobriety, and am the co-founder of an intensive outpatient program treating co-ocurring disorders. I also became the Clinical Director of a somatic trauma healing intensive outpatient program where I had the pleasure to run the program but also supervise the brilliant therapists treating our clients. I have always incorporate my extensive knowledge of trauma healing with those who have been using maladaptive behaviors to try unsuccessfully to manage tremendous pain. The underlying pain requires gentle, holistic attention to move through the process, to make changes in the neural pathways and allow the client to begin a true healing process. I am excited to be back in private practice where I can devote my time in helping my clients make the changes necessary to have a more fulfilling and healthier life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be an opportunity for me to hear and understand what you are struggling with. It is also an opportunity for you to understand me; how I work and to begin to develop a safe environment. It is so important for you to be able to learn to trust me so that we can navigate the challenges together and that you can count on my ability to hold you in those spaces.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am deeply compassionate and have had a significant amount of time dealing with deep issues. This provides me with a tremendous knowledge and experience in managing the most challenging of situations presenting themselves. I create a strong container of safety and trust in which to have you do the most delicate work.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

With all my years of experience, I believe that assisting you to reclaim your personal power and joy is essential to having a quality life. Most of us are guided by our early experiences or painful experiences which color our perspectives or our responses to situations. By addressing the underlying issues, you have a chance to change maladaptive behaviors or unhealthy coping mechanisms. Understanding and healing that pain offers you the opportunity to create the life you are wanting to have. I am here to go through that with you and can provide you with the tools for success.

My treatment methods

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

My approach to help individuals, couples and families improve relationship and emotional well-being by exploring and understanding emotions and attachment patterns as response to childhood, trauma or significantly impactful situations. To assist clients in forming new neural pathways to adjusting to life's situations and understanding attachment patterns to develop healthier coping skills. For families and couples, to assist in understanding each other's emotions and needs, and to strengthen communication and emotional bonds.

Grief Therapy

I have 3 decades of experience assisting clients deal with the grief around death and loss. I also have tremendous experience helping those who are dying adjust to and deal with their transition.
